Dear Members of JCCOBA Canada,

It is a true honor to serve as President of our alumni association for 2024 and 2025, working alongside a dedicated and talented team. Our Board of Directors brings an exceptional blend of experience, wisdom, and compassion. I am proud to share the progress since our election in March 2024.

Here are some key highlights of our achievements:

Support for Our Alma Mater:
We have successfully remitted funds to our alma mater, supporting two significant projects.

Strengthened School Ties:
We have built a strong working relationship with our school's Principal, Mr. Indrakumar, whose dedication and commitment have been a source of inspiration.

JCCOBA Global Forum – Presidents and Secretary’s:
We are now proud members of the JCCOBA Global Forum, a platform connecting Presidents and Secretaries from alumni associations worldwide. The exchange of ideas and collaborative discussions within this forum has been truly enriching.

Annual Walkathon, Picnic & Community Contribution:
This year’s annual walkathon and picnic was a resounding success, with record-breaking attendance and raised a record amount exceeding the target for a noble cause. JCCOBA selected Heart and Stroke Foundation; once again, as the recipient of the funds raised this year. The donation cheque for $11,270 was presented after the walk.

Annual Big Match Cricket:
The annual Battle of the North cricket match between Jaffna Central College and St. John's College was held on August 10, 2024. Both teams displayed exceptional skill and unwavering sportsmanship throughout the event. This cherished tradition continues to strengthen bonds between the two alumni’s.

Annual Dinner and Dance:
The annual dinner and dance was a grand sold out event with over 300 guests, attended by former students, their families and friends.

Membership Growth:
The steady growth in our membership reflects the vitality and relevance of our association.

Launching of first E-Newsletter:
This year, we launched our first e-newsletter to ensure open lines of communication between the Board and our members, fostering unity, engagement, and shared growth.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our Board of Directors for their valuable contributions and unwavering support. On behalf of JCCOBA, I also wish to thank our sponsors, donors, and advertisers for their continued generosity and support.
